4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Timepiece, November 11, 2008
By M. HILTON (Schenectady, NY United States)
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have purchased several Invicta time pieces from Amazon over the past few years. With the exception of my Invicta Pro-Diver Automatic, this has to be the best made and appealing watch I have seen from Invicta. The dial is large and meaty as shown in my photos. The numbers, hands and 12 dot all glow in the dark. This watch was priced at an attractive $49.99 with free 1 day shipping. I ordered it at 5:00pm on 11-10-08 and received it at 2:00pm on the 11th. Not sure if this is an early black friday deal from Amazon or a price typo; however, this watch is well worth the $49.99. I received an email from Invicta. This is actually a 2009 model that is suppose to be released in March; however, Amazon has it now. This is a very attractive price for this watch. Based on Invicta's MSRP, the watch should actually be around $129.00, so the $49.99 is a steal. Nice time piece for yourself and for a gift!!! This was the email I received from Invicta:

Dear Valued Customer
This model is one of the next year models that are selling now.
But we will not have it in our website probably until March next year.
And when the watch is posted in our website it will say the same it says on amazon, because that is the info that we gave to them

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, basic watch, November 13, 2008
By Andy B (Tigard, OR USA)
For the price, I think this is a nice watch. It's pretty large, which is the fashion these days, and the white face, black hands, and large numbers make it easy to read. I also like the day-of-the-week window at 12 o'clock.
Build quality is pretty good; although both the bracelet/clasp and tachymeter dial feel slightly cheaper than the two other Invictas that I own, they're certainly far better than most watches you'd find at this price. The watch definitely looks and feels more expensive than it is. I can't speak to the accuracy as of yet but in my experience the Japanese quartz movement used by Invicta has worked just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch!, December 18, 2008
By Richard P "The One and Only" (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Saw the reviews for this watch and was impressed so I bought it. WOW. It is really first class. The great box it arrives in and the elegant timepiece enclosed is extraordinary. It keeps impeccable time, is very easy to read, and looks great.

On top of all this by purchasing it from Amazon, Invicta extends the warranty to 5 years at no additional cost (plus Amazon provides free one-day delivery).

Get this watch. It is a great watch for the $325 list price and a steal for $49.99. You won't be sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anyone wanna play?, December 29, 2007
By D. Derenzo (Fort Lauderdale, FL United States)
I got this "football" included for free with the purchase of the Invicta 8935 for $64 for both. It has a grippy rubberized feel to it, not leathery. Probably a little easier on the hands to catch since it is softer than a leather ball. I have serious doubts that the yellow would hold up if dropped on asphalt. The colors and big logo are obnoxious. I wouldn't pay a penny for this ball if I saw it in a store. Who in their right mind would pay $35 for this and give it to their kid when they can buy a really nice spalding or Wilson simulated leather ball for about $12? I'd say maybe its worth $7.00 at most. I should say, I am very happy with the watch which is all I cared about anyway.

1.0 out of 5 stars amazon make me crazy, September 19, 2008
By J. Meng  (REAL NAME)
This football is free with the purchase of an Invicta watch.
But few days later amazon sent me an email saying the watch is no longer available and canceled my watch. But they did not cancel the football and charged me 35$!!! by the time I got the cancellation email, I could not cancel the foot ball because it's too late.
Have to return it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice watch, November 26, 2005
By SCN (Davis, CA USA) - See all my reviews
I ordered this watch from Amazon and it arrived before the estimated delivery date. I love the watch, and it looks much better in person than in pictures on the web. Quality is very good and the hands line up perfectly. The luminova is evenly applied and lasts longer, actually all the way through the night, which I didn't think would be the case. The only feature I don't like is the canvas band, which I found uncomfortable. I'm sure it's fine for others, but still a black leather band for less than (...)(any jewelry store or online store) compliments the watch very well, and it no longer looks like a 'weekend watch'. One small point about the Eco-drive that some other reviews I've read overlooked: Citizen Eco-drive models DO have a battery. The solar cell stores energy in a rechargeable mangenese-titanium battery. The battery should last a very long time according to Citizen engineers who project that even after 20 years the battery should retain 80% of recharge capacity (on their website), but only time will tell... no pun intended. Speaking of time, the watch is pretty accurate. I've had the watch for one month and during that time it has lost less than one second when compared to the US national time (www.nist.gov). In sum: this is a very well constructed watch that I feel is worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fine Citizen Eco-Drive, June 27, 2005
This watch is for your days off. The mineral crystal and the water resistant features ensure this.

The band is crafted of a military style nylon khaki with riveted type holes for adjusting the band to accommodate your wrist. Inexpensive but finely crafted. Instead of buying the Timex look hard at this watch because it has a better movement and it doesn't require a battery! Large numbers enhance the dial with luminous hands. The day and date are also displayed in English and Spanish.

A five year warranty on the movement (only) gives your peace of mind. A must have for those leisure days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great watch - Band causes a stink, November 29, 2007
I would give this watch a 5 star if it were not for the band. While bands are replaceable this is a review of the item as it is sold. I wash my hands probably a hundred times a day and try as I might the band gets wet. After a full days work the leather and canvas traps the water and sweat and begins to smell. It is like a cast on your arm for 6 weeks smell. Leather (Inside) Canvas outer trap the water and sweat and no matter how you dry it, it still smells.

Beyond that,

This watch is awesome! I love the no-battery replacement. I love the crystal and it has only 1 minor scratch after a full year of ownership.
I had bought 3 timex/casio watches in 3 months that were destroyed at work due to scratches cracks and bands breaking.

Overall if you are outdoors type playing in the river or swamp then this watch band should be replaced with an all rubber one. It is very water resistant and a pleasure to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeds Expectations, February 6, 2008
By Chuck (Columbus, Ohio USA) - See all my reviews
I purchased this watch to replace an older Polar heart rate monitor with dead batteries in the chest strap and the monitor. The design of that product required me to send both units in for replacement by a Polar service center. The cost was nearly as much as the cost of this timex heart rate monitor.

I am so pleased with this product. The instructon manual was clearly written and easy to understand. There are just enough functions for me without loading the product up with things I will never use. That makes using it simple and I can remember how to use it without having to refresh my memory by repeatedly rereading the manual.

The monitor is an excellent watch when not using the heart rate features. Best of all I can change the batteries myself when the time comes without sending the thing off in the mail to a service center.

On top of all that the price was reasonable. This is one of those few purchases that exceeded my expectations because everything that it does, it does a little bit better than I had hoped for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Battery Hungry, August 30, 2008
By Kambiz Akhavein (APO, AE United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
1. The product does everything that it claims to do.
2. The watch looks nice enough to wear all the time as your main watch.

3. The strap that needs to be used to send your heart beats is comfortable.
4. You can learn the HRM quickly if you fool around with it a little bit. If you are a computer nerd, you will learn it in less that one hour.
5. The only thing negative is that it uses batteries like crazy. I have to use a new battery every week and that costs $5. There is no shut off botton on the transmitter so it is constantly on and the battery drains.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice... good little training tool and toy, March 3, 2008
I bought this HRM to help me as I began a training program, and decided on this one rather than a Polar monitor because it was cheaper and because it was a Timex. It was easy to use out of the box (I ran later that day); I set the time and after fiddling a little with the buttons I was able to use the timer and HRM functions.

The chest strap is snug and comfortable; the watch is unisex but for women with tiny wrists it might be a bit too loose; I myself wear it the tightest possible setting.

Aesthetically it looks great. It's not something that I personally would go around wearing all the time, but it's easy to read and the buttons are easy to use. The indigo is not ideal for when I'm running on the street in the evening since it lights up the numbers rather than the whole face of the watch, but this is a tiny issue.

Overall, fantastic product, and I'm so glad that something this well-featured is availiable at such a competitive price from Timex.
